You Can't Be Neutral On A Moving Train

In his autobiography, Howard Zinn wrote: "To be neutral, to be passive in a situation is to collaborate with whatever is going on."  In our modern world there is so much going on at any one moment it's difficult to feel like we're staying informed.  It's difficult to know the veracity of the information we receive and it's difficult to choose which cause to champion when the whole world seems to be falling apart.  We currently enjoy free speech in this country, although even that sometimes seems questionable amidst accusations of alternative facts and fake news.  10% of this decidedly neutral, slightly textured rug, will go to support the public library, where information is always free and we can decide for ourselves what is true and where we stand on any given issue.

This weaving is part of my collection, Warp of Dissent, which was woven in response to the egregious actions taken by our current government.

You Can't Be Neutral... was hand woven in Portland, OR on my Rio Grande walking loom from 100% wool yarn on a wool warp.  It measures 32.5 x 60 inches or ~70 in.  with fringe.
