major arcana (2015)

This series of weaving is based on the major arcana of the tarot. While exploring the tarot on a personal level I both deepened my understanding of the deck and created my own interpretation in a visual format. I made new images for the first 21 cards, but the final piece in the series is "The World" so I reached out to the community and asked them to contribute ideas for the 22nd card. I ended up weaving suggestions from almost 100 people into one larger, cohesive tapestry. You can follow that process as it unfolded on my instagram feed @combedthunder.
